About Me
Darcy Bass is studying journalism with a minor in sports management at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. She is passionate about keeping print journalism alive in the age of digital media, as well as local newspapers. In high school, Bass wrote for Marlborough School's award-winning newspaper, the UltraViolet. She asserted her leadership skills when taking on the roles of blogs editor and head sports editor simultaneously. With the Head Sports Editor position, Bass used Adobe InDesign to lay out pages. From 2022-2023, Bass was Head Social Media Marketing Manager and created video content for the UltraViolet's Instagram. These videos entailed intensive editing on Adobe Premiere Pro, which she can now navigate and teach others how to use.

If there's something to be said about AP Style, Darcy Bass will be sure to correct any grammatical errors present in one's spoken or written words. In addition to journalism experience, Bass helped organize the One Love Foundation's Youth Leadership Summit (2022) as well as their annual One Day for One Love event in Sacramento, where student ambassadors spoke to California state officials about the importance of relationship health education. Bass supports the movement to end relationship abuse, and will take the steps necessary to advocate for the cause.

Darcy Bass has an absolute love for travel, especially her annual family trip to Korçula, Croatia. Bass, along with her two sisters, appreciate art history and are often found at the nearest museum of their current destination. All travels are paired with vibe-fitting playlist, which Bass curates for every adventure. When it comes to skiing, Bass can be spotted atop the slopes of the hardest difficulty, eager to shred down.

Bass lets her curiosity guide her, and cannot wait for any opportunities in journalism or sports management.
